Service Department

Routine servicing entails:

• The dismantling of the mechanism
• Ultrasonic cleaning of all movement components
• Examination and replacement of any worn or defective parts

The mechanism is then rebuilt and lubricated to the manufacturer's specifications.

A new power cell, Omega crown, glass and all seals necessary to restore water-resistant properties are fitted where applicable.

The movement is then electronically timed. The case and bracelet are ultrasonically cleaned and tidied if necessary and restored on request.

Once the service work has been completed the Watch Technician responsible then undertakes final checking of the watch prior to it being passed on to our Quality Control Department.

In the Quality Control Department the watch is checked to ensure it falls within the necessary criteria for each particular model.
This is carried out by a senior Watch Technician.

The watch is then checked on two further occasions during a 48 hour period.

After a full service and once the watch has successfully passed the testing period, it is returned along with a two year guarantee which includes parts and labour. Any partial repairs are returned with a 12 months guarantee on the replaced parts.

Our Spare Parts Department holds a comprehensive stock of Omega spares, many of which are obsolete. Stock is maintained on our computerised system via barcoding in order that we run at maximum efficiency.

Spare parts are for our internal use only and are not sold to either the trade or the public.

Because of the quality of Omega cases and depending on the actual condition of the case, we are able to offer the same degree of water resistance as when the watch was new, even though a watch may be many years old. Various waterproofing procedures are carried out by several different machines according to the type of watch case involved.

Our Casing Department looks after all the watch cases and bracelets while the movements are being serviced. This preparation involves ultrasonic cleaning of both the case and bracelet where applicable, plus polishing and tidying.

Also based in this department we have a fully qualified goldsmith who undertakes any repair work and manufacturing of parts for our gold watch cases and bracelets.
